After a big cheap English breakfast we went down to the beach near our hotel and found a tourism office where we collected some info on things to do in Tenerife. From there we made our way to the public bus stop and caught the bus up to Santa Cruz where we got a tram to La Laguna, a UNESCO town just out of Santa Cruz. The bus went along the coast line to Santa Cruz, past some fairly arid dry barren landscape covered in cacti and a few wind farms. In La Laguna we walked up the bell tower of the church for some great views out over the city. From there we found a nice traditional Tapas bar where we tasted a selection of Canarian dishes, all very good! After exploring the streets of La Laguna a little more we took the tram back to the bus terminal and the bus back to Las Americas. We collected a few supplies from the supermarket then got some Chinese take away for dinner which we ate on our hotel balcony – very good! It was a very pleasant temperature, mid 20s all day which was a welcomed change from the British winter!
