15/3/2011 and 16/3/2011 Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam

We arrived in Ho Chi Minh late on the 14/3/2011. After a good nights sleep Nick and I explored the city around where we were staying and booked our trip for the rest of our South East Asia stay at the travel agent below the hotel. Arnit (Nick's friend) arrived and we set off on a walking tour of Ho Chi Minh and explored the night market. On the 16th we had an early start and joined a tour to the Chu Chi tunnels - very interesting and eye opening... We were able to go through the tunnels and were given demonstrations on all the different types of traps and weapons they used, the boys even had a round at the shooting range.

They carry everything on the back of their bikes and motor bikes in Asia - here is a mobile florist.

The traffic is unreal, it took me a while to get used to crossing the road (Nick had had experience in India so was able to lead the way). You literally just have to step out and walk at a constant pace and the traffic moves around you according to your pace so you can't stop suddenly! The first few times I closed my eyes and held onto Nick and went for it!

This is the Ho Chi Minh cathederal (at night)

The Ho Chi Minh Opera house (at night)

Whilst waiting for the bus to the tunnels we were offered some doughnuts!

Nick was brave and went for it - he went through all the tunnels we could (even the non tourist sized ones!)

I went into the start of the tunnels for a look then reversed out! That was enough for me!
