18/3/2011 Siem Reap, Cambodia

On the 18th we got up VERY early for sunrise over Angkor Wat, well worth the early start! We then hired bikes and rode around the temples for the day, starting at central Angkor Thom (and Bayon), Baphuon, Phimeanakas, Terrace of the Leper King, Preah Palilay, Tep Pranam, the terrace of the elephants and left at the East gate of Angkor Thom having entered from the South gate. We stopped off at some of the temples along then way then finished at Ta Prohm (the jungle temple that they have left for the trees to grow over - amazing! Most of the other temples had some sort of restoration work going on). I liked Ta Prohm the most, it looked like the trees were eating the temple!
