10/9/2011 The Burren to Belfast, Ireland

With our new directions and clean clothes from our campsite luxury we made our way through the Burren (without getting lost). The Burren was fairly speccy despite misty rain and fog. We drove along the coast to Galway, a pretty coastal town and managed to navigate our way through the city then along the coast and through the Connemara with more amazing scenery - both coastal and inland. We eventually made it to Sligo via Westport in the pouring rain then made our way through more pretty country side to Antrim, Belfast. Crossing over from Southern Ireland to Northern Ireland was pretty amazing, we went from being in miles and pounds to kilometres and euros (which made it interesting driving when our speedo displayed miles, not kilometres!). The streets went from being lined with Irish flags to bunting covered in the union jack, the red post boxes and double decker buses! It really was like driving back into the UK! We were unable to find a suitable place to camp around Belfast so we made our way to the camp ground in Antrim where we checked in (with all the flys/midges) for the night after a 13 hour drive.
