20.03.2011 Da Nang to Hoi An, Vietnam

We had hoped to go straight to Hoi An from Cambodia but there was a full moon festival on in Hoi An at the time which we didn't know about and all the accommodation was fully booked out. So we stayed in Da Nang over night and explored the city a little the next morning before heading down to Hoi An. We wandered around the water front and through a market in Da Nang then drove past the Marble Mountains on the way to Hoi An. We arrived in Hoi An around lunch time and checked in to the hotel then went for a wander through the town and had some lunch. Hoi An is a beautiful little town which thrives on its 'tailor made' business, literally every second shop wants to make you something; dresses, shoes, suits, tops etc. We wandered down to the river in time for sunset which was spectacular - Hoi An has a great atmosphere and is a fairly laid back town.

This was just down the raod from our hotel in Da Nang, glad we weren't staying here!

We found a posh hotel that had a glass lift up 20 levels so went in for a sneaky ride. This was the view from the 20th level out over Da Nang city.

Again the view of Da Nang city
