4/2/2012 Moscow and train to Irkutsk, Russia TRANS SIBERIAN RAILWAY

We had a quiet morning in the hostel packing then caught the bus to the train station. At the station we took it in turns to go to the supermarket to stock up on 2 minute noodles, soups and vodka before our 87 hour train journey across Russia – through the Ural Mountains and into Siberia. We boarded the train and got set up on our bunks with all our gear packed away then munched into some snacks and cracked the vodka. We saw some amazing snowy winter wonderland out the window along the way. The train stopped briefly at Rostov, Yaroslavl, Lubim, Bui, Galich, Antropovo, Nikolo-Pomolo, Neja, and Manturovo. At the bigger stations we stopped for up to 30 minutes where we could get off for some fresh air.
