After fried Christmas ham and eggs on toast for breakfast on Boxing Day Laura, Tom and I went into Reading and checked out the sales. I spent Tuesday to Friday either at work or finalising all our travel plans and packing in every spare minute then on Saturday Laura and I made another quick trip into Reading for a few last minute things before heading to Kei’s Chinese (our favourite) for New Year’s Eve dinner which was awesome! We had the early sitting for dinner then went back to Highfield for a few more drinks before going to the local pub The Red Lion for a few more with Rog, Laura, Tom and Mary. We then made our way back to Highfield in time to bring in the New Year with Nan and Grampa watching the fireworks on TV – which were very speccy! On Sunday we crawled out of bed a bit worse for wear and headed into London to the Natural History museum (Laura’s favourite) which had a brilliant photo exhibition ‘wildlife photographer of the year’. We made it home in time for crackling duck pancake roles for dinner and I packed the rest of my gear ready for our trip to the Canary Islands on the 2nd.
