We hit the road early and drove from Marrakech to Casablanca through amazing scenery with the Atlas Mountains as a backdrop. We had some lunch in Casablanca before being taken on a tour of the 3rd largest mosque in the world (largest in Morocco) – The Hassan 2 Mosque on the water front. The inside was amazing and had loads of different levels for prayer, washing and a Turkish style bath in the very bottom. There was lots of intricate carving on all the walls, marble floors and a massive roof that opens out in the summer – quite amazing! We then drove on to the Kasbah in the medina of Rabat where we stopped for panoramic views out over the city, water and graveyards at sunset. We had dinner near the hotel then went back for a few drinks. Another brilliant day and clear blue sunny weather, couldn’t ask for much more!
