19/12/2011 - 25/12/2011 UK

I had a busy week at work, finishing at Wexham Park Hospital midweek then building up to Christmas at the end of the week at Wallingford. I finished booking accommodation for the trips ahead and wrapping presents, organised malaria tablets for India/Nepal, organised boxes for shipping things home and finished babysitting earlier in the week. Roger arrived on Tuesday and Andrea and Chris came down for a roast pork joint with crackling on Thursday which was good fun! I helped Tom and Mary book some of their travels and then Laura arrived on Christmas eve! Tom, Rog and I drove out to the airport to collect her then we all had a massive roast gammon for dinner which was amazing! We had a very mild week weather wise which was great, managed to get some runs and dog walking in. We had a great time of Christmas day, everyone loved their presents and we had an amazing Turkey and stuffing for lunch / dinner, plenty to drink and an awesome Tiramisu cake with Baileys and Christmas cake with brandy sauce for desert - there was much snoozing after this! We finished the day off with a big game of scrabble - definitely a Christmas to remember!

12/12/2011 - 18/12/2011 UK

A week of cold frosty mornings and lots more planning and booking! I finished my Christmas shopping after work and caught up with Jenny, my friend I am travelling through India and Nepal with. I did more babysitting and booked our trip to The Canary Islands and Morocco! On Friday Tom and Mary arrived and we had a big leg of lamb and champagne to celebrate! I helped Thea with some cooking and went down to East Sussex where there was snow settled on the ground on Saturday night. Tom, Mary, Thea and I did some dog walking on Sunday in the icey cold - at least there was some sun! I showed Tom and Mary the sites of Mortimer (in a few minutes) on Saturday and we walked the dogs in the woods around Thea's house. On Sunday afternoon we ventured into Reading and all bought a few bits and pieces before coming home for an amazing Lamb tagine cooked by Thea for dinner followed by lemon posset... yum!

5/12/2011 - 11/12/2011 UK

This week was filled with Christmas cards, babysitting, blog updates, frosty starts and more travel planning! I booked our Portugal trip for January, accommodation in China and researched Morocco and The Canary Islands for early January. I wrapped Christmas present and started packing my room up ready for the long trip home... On Saturday I had a brilliant run, it was a very cold frosty day - all the puddles were frozen over and leaves white with frost but the sun was out and made the autumn colours look brilliant!
