We got up early after little sleep and wandered around Dachau in the misty morning light. We spent about 3 hours walking through the gas chambers, sleeping quarters and museum etc. After feeling suitably depressed we left Dachau and drove down through the beautiful German countryside to Ludwigs castle in Neuschwanstein, Fussen. It was an amazing sunny clear blue day - great for driving with the roof open and it was nice to spend the second half of the day doing something light hearted. We drove on from Fussen to the Bavarian Alps after walking up the hill to check out the castle and views surrounding it - amazing! We made it to Berchtesgarden by the time it was dark and set up in a camp site for the night which meant we could get some washing done and enjoy hot showers!
