Sophie's travels 2011-2012: 21/11/2011

I had a hectic week at work and did some more babysitting next door after work during the week. We had another uno tournament and Grampa got his own back, beating us all... We farewelled Rog on Wednesday and on my drive between jobs on Wednesday I came across an accident blocking the whole road so had to navigate my way around the motorways to find an alternate route to Wallingford from Slough which was interesting. I ended up driving past 'Toad Hall' (from The Wind In The Willows) on the Thames river! I did some more travel planning after work during the week then Thea and I went into Newbury on Saturday and bought a few bits and pieces including the supermarketing. On Sunday I made my way into London on the train and met up with Alanna, a friend who I met on my contiki tour over the Summer. We wandered around the Winter Wonderland Christmas Market in Hyde Park which was awesome - ice skating rink and all! It was a beautiful sunny day so we sat in the park with a drink and planned our trip around Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia for January together. After that I went to my Cup Cake, Whoopi Pie and Martini course that my friends from work gave me when I finished back in Tas which was brilliant! Lots of chocolate so lots of fun!! Great present.
