11/9/2011 Antrim, Belfast to Dublin, Ireland

We started the day aiming for the train station in Antrim to park and take the train into Belfast only to find the first train wasn't coming for at least an hour (despite what the owner of the campsite advised us...). So we decided to go for it and just drive in to the city and hope we could find a park - which we did! We got into the city and took the first city sightseeing tour bus. We had a brilliant tour guide and saw a lot of the city on the tour bus including the Titanic wharf, the parliament house (which was disguised by dung back in the day to protect the parliament), and the graffiti demonstrating the political history of Belfast which was a real eye opener. We then stopped off at the Taste of Northern Ireland which just happened to be on in the city while we were there - awesome! We listened to a bit of Irish folk music before hitting the road to Dublin. After navigating our way through Belfast we eventually arrived in Dublin and made our way to the Guinness Brewery which was brilliant, finishing with amazing views out over Dublin from the sky bar at the top of the brewery with a Guinness. We ended our time in Dublin catching up with Oscar our friend from Tas who made us an amazing dinner and put us up for the night which we were very grateful for - the end of a fantastic time in Ireland.

Apparently the political disruption in Northern Ireland is over but this more recent graffitti would perhaps suggest otherwise...
