After not a lot of sleep through the thunderstorm we woke up amazingly to another clear blue hot sunny day! We caught the public transport into the city then caught a tram up to the top of the hill to Prague Castle and Hradcany and did a quick walking tour. We has great views out over the city from the castle and saw St Vitus cathedral, the Old Royal Palace and Basilica of St George. We then walked down through Mala Strana past the smallest street in Prague and the ‘Piss Sculpture’ (literally two guys peeing into a puddle shaped like the Czech Republic!). We walked across Charles Bridge to Stare Mesto in the Old Town and the main square Staromestske nam with Tyn church and St Nicholas church and clock tower of the old town hall where we saw the astronomical clock. We continued down to the water front where we got out river cruise and buffet lunch which was great. We even saw a boat cruise past with a wedding ceremony in process! After the cruise we walked back along the cobble stone streets to the main square through the Jewish quarter and watched the astronomical clock do its thing on the hour – a parade of apostles walk around the top of the tower and a skeleton rings the bell… We then walked to Wencelas square and headed back to the campsite from there. We got changed and went back into the city for a quick dinner and our Prague Pub Crawl. The pub crawl started with ‘an hour of power’ unlimited free shots of absinth, vodka and curacao, beer and wine – needless to say it was messy! We got free shots at the entrance of the next 2 pubs we went to then free entry into the biggest night club in Prague: 5 stories with different dance floors and genres of music on each floor. We made our way home at 3:30am and got a few hours sleep before getting up and packing the tent at 5:30am!
