We woke up to a beautiful sunny blue day for our trip up Jungfrau mountain, the highest point in Europe and part of the Swiss Alps! We took the oldest cog train in Europe slowly up through the mountains taking time to adjust to the altitude along the way and reached the top of Jungfrau after 2 hours and a train change. The scenery all the way was AMAZING!! We went past cows grazing along the side of the train tack and could hear the bells around their necks ringing as they moved, very cool. At the top we had amazing views out to white snow everywhere and clear blue sky as well as clouds and down into the valleys. We went to the ice palace and saw all sorts of amazing animals carved out of ice then up to the Sphinx – the viewing point at the top of Jungfrauch. Kayla and I bought, wrote and sent some post cards from what we are told is the highest post office in the world! We then got passes to go tubing and sledging down the ski slope for a while which was HEAPS of fun!
